Wednesday Packet

The Wednesday Packet is the Wood Acres Elementary School PTA’s Weekly News Brief.  It is sent home in the students’ folders each Wednesday afternoon (that is, unless the copier happens to be down, then you are likely to see it on Thursday instead!).  It contains all kinds of information relating to the PTA and to other school-related activities, such as family fun events, fundraising events, charity efforts, volunteering opportunities, important dates and other announcements.  There are four main sections of the Wednesday Packet:

1. A two-week calendar at the top of the front page to quickly show you what’s coming up, e.g., PTA events and other important school information,
2. A quick listing of additional upcoming events so you can mark your calendar well in advance,
3. A front page section with brief articles, and
4. Attached flyers from PTA committees or from the Wood Acres front office (e.g., event registration form, volunteer forms, guidance counselor hand-outs, etc.)
   

How can you contribute to the Wednesday Packet?

• To place a PTA-related article in the cover page of the Wednesday Packet, please send a concise article (including both a title and article text) BY 12 NOON THE PREVIOUS FRIDAY to both This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Please include "For Wed Packet" in the subject of your email.
• To add a PTA flyer to this packet, please email a PDF or Microsoft Word document BY 12 NOON MONDAY to both This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Please include "For Wed Packet" in the subject of your email.  Electronic copies of flyers are best so we can easily post them to the PTA web site, but you can alternatively drop a hardcopy of your flyer in the designated basket in the 1st floor copy room BY 9AM TUESDAY.
• Side note:  If you have enough information for a single page flyer, it often works well to also send us a brief front page article to call attention to the flyer.

A note about distribution:

The Wednesday Packet is sent home in the folder weekly for all children in Grades K-2. Children in Grades 3-5 will receive the packet if they do not have any siblings in Grades K-2. This is done in an effort to cut down on costs and to cut down on unnecessary paper usage.
