Calling all 5th Grade Parents! We need your help gathering photos for the 5th Grade Farewell Slideshow. Please read the file here for information on how to submit photos for the 'Then and Now' single photos and 'Through the Years" groups shots.

Adventures With Robots will teach 12 lucky 3-5 graders how to make characters walk, talk and boogie across the screen using Scratch.  Scratch is a super-simple drag-and-drop multimedia programming language designed by MIT’s Lifelong Kindergarten project.  This class requires solid reading and math and the ability to focus for an hour, except for a short break. Thursdays 3:15-4:15p, April 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24.  $100. Go to http://woodacres-programming-thursday.doattend.com/ to register.

Please mark your calendars for the next PTA meeting to be held on Tuesday, February 7 at 7pm in the Media Center.  Jennifer Lauchlan, Wood Acres' Media Specialist, will give a presentation and demonstration on the computer programs your children are using at school, and programs and websites available for use at home.  It promises to be a very informative presentation.  Babysitting will be provided in the Teachers' Lounge during the meeting.
