We use it regularly to update families about upcoming PTA-sponsored events and to share our weekly newsletter: Plan Your Week. Along with having access to the school directory you can also buy tickets to upcoming events, make a donation to the PTA Annual Fund, and stay informed by your classroom room parents. Below are helpful communication lists to help you stay connected. Please take a few minutes to review the list and sign up if you haven't already.
This site is maintained by the Wood Acres ES administration. Here you will find the Report an Absence form, school calendar, lunch menu, bus route information, staff directory, parent handbook, school policies and MCPS COVID-19 links.
ParentVUE is the primary home-to-school communication platform for schools to share information related to grades, attendance, school updates, logging into myMCPS Classroom, and more.
How to access: Go to the website above. If your child attended an MCPS school last year, login information will be the same. For families new to MCPS, a letter with login information was mailed to your home over the summer. If you have trouble with your parent login and password, please call Ms. Ebony Graham in our front office at 240-740-1120.

This is a free email service that provides subscribers with important news and information about MCPS programs and activities, plus emergency information. MCPS QuickNotes is offered in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Visit the site above to subscribe.
This site allows you to receive text messages or emails from MCPS during weather-related emergencies and other major events that impact school system operations. Signing up for Alert MCPS is free, but please check with your wireless provider about charges.
