Martha’s Table Collection

Martha’s Table Food Collection for D.C.’s Hungry
Involve your children in fighting hunger locally

WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
Each month, Wood Acres families contribute food to Martha’s Table for distribution directly to hungry people in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Martha’s Table believes that everyone has a right to healthy food and works 365 days a year to increase food security and ensure healthy options for our neighbors. Last year, Martha’s Table’s food programs distributed over 1.6 million healthy meals in our community. This reach would be impossible without the generous support of people like you!

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
Send your donations to school with your children on collection dates. Information about Food Donations can be found at http://marthastable.org/donate/food-donations/. For a fun way to involve your children, get creative and make your own Trail Mix, or have a Sandwich Making Party. Please follow the Food Donation Guidelines for preparing your donation, then send it with your child to school on the designated days. Volunteers will collect donations during school arrival. Please watch for emails about specific donation requests from Martha’s Table depending on their current needs.
