Collections will take place next week beginning Tuesday, October 20th through Friday, October 23rd during morning drop-off (starting at 8:30am) in front of Wood Acres. Collection bins will also be available outside the main entrance each day until dismissal.
Please consider donating the following items:
New or gently used baby/children’s coats, hats, mittens/gloves, sweaters, fleeces, pants, scarves and snow boots/shoes. All sizes from infant through teen are greatly appreciated!
New or gently used adult coats, sweaters and snow boots (all sizes and both men/women's needed)—There is especially a need for adult men’s sizes M–L in the population we are serving as well as shoes in a variety of sizes, including boots, sneakers, loafers etc.
Basically, any cold weather clothing or footwear that a child or adult could wear is accepted and greatly appreciated!
Please ensure all items are clean and ready to wear. Many lack free or easy access to laundry facilities, so freshly laundered items make a big difference and help families feel good about their "new" clothing.
The Warm Clothing Drive benefits families at our sister schools in Silver Spring: New Hampshire Estates (Pre-K-2nd) and Oak View Elementary (3rd-5th).
We also welcome volunteers to help set up the distribution "sale" at our sister school. The date for the "sale" is Saturday, November 7th! If you’d like to volunteer at the sale or have questions, please contact Beth Mueller. SSL hours are possible for MS/HS students in MCPS!
